Seeding the importance of sustainable futures

The Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) has a mission to raise awareness within the community of present and future sustainable energy ideas and initiatives – and to encourage adoption to transition the nation to full sustainability.

With their participation in the International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition Conference Malaysia (iGEM) confirmed for 2016, SEDA gave us the challenge to create and launch a show for both their Open Day event in Putrajaya and for their iGEM exhibition stand just a few days later.

Our approach was to create a display that would be highly informative and engaging, encouraging participation. We used a tunnel to display SEDA’s milestones, key objectives and initiatives, including interactive touch screens and tablets. By learning about SEDA through the displays, guests could fill out a mini passport with stamps to collect a free gift. They also had a chance to contribute their own energy in a fun way by powering the displays through an exercise bike. Visitors were then encouraged to write out their pledges on how they were going to adopt environmentally conscious practices in their daily lives. These were hung as leaves on a display tree that slowly grew as a backdrop to the pocket talks and training sessions held throughout the day.

For iGEM, we transported the whole concept from Putrajaya to KLCC and launched the event with our selected VVIP’s powering the display on the bike.
